About Me

Arvid Gerstmann is a software engineer, entrepreneur, manager, and occasional speaker. He is the founder of RagnarLab, a software and management consulting company. Arvid has previous experience as Head of Software Engineering at ZEISS Vision, Head of Software and Architecture at Doxy.me, Inc., and served as the Chief Technology Officer at Appico.

Holding a degree in electrical engineering, Arvid is a self-taught programmer. He is interested in writing video games, compilers, and other low-level systems and is most fluent in Rust, C, and C++. However, he has professional experience in various technologies (incl. JS, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and Azure). Arvid loves solving complex problems and mentoring other engineers.

Arvid loves good espresso and is an avid reader. He usually travels nature with his camper van, preparing for the next hike or climbing the next big mountain with his girlfriend and his adorable Spanish water dog, Charlie. He currently lives in Germany.
